The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship of the San Francisco Bay relies entirely on grants and charitable contributions from people like you to fulfill our mission of addressing health disparities by developing Leaders in Service.
The San Francisco Bay Area is one of 13 active programs across the nation. Since 2007 we have selected 184 Fellows from 8 Bay Area universities. To date they have carried out over 36,000 hours of community service. The selection process is highly competitive and becoming a SF Bay Area Schweitzer Fellow is a great honor for those who are chosen. These Fellows follow in Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s footsteps, committing themselves to creating and carrying out yearlong, high-impact service projects that meet the health needs of many underserved communities in the Bay Area. When the initial year ends for the Schweitzer Fellows, the difference they’re making doesn’t: they carry on their commitment to meeting the health needs of underserved people as members of the Schweitzer Fellows for Life alumni network, now 4,000 strong.
